Who we are

YourMugshots is a personalized-gift business based at 82 West Belt, Rangiora 7400, New Zealand. Questions about privacy or your information can be sent to info@yourmugshots.co.nz or raised by phone on Bill - 027 810 0091 or Margaret - 021 254 5478.

Information we collect

When you place an order we may collect your name, email address, phone number, delivery address, order details, personalized wording, design instructions and the photos or artwork you choose to upload. If you choose to create an account, we also store your reusable profile details and a secure password hash; we do not store your readable password. The server also records limited technical and security information such as IP address, request time, failed logins, blocked requests and similar security events.

How we use it

We use customer information to prepare and manage your order, create and review design proofs, arrange payment, produce and dispatch personalized products, provide customer support and protect the website from abuse. Server-side visitor analytics are used to understand product interest, site navigation, sales conversion and where customers may be abandoning the purchase process. We do not use customer artwork for advertising or unrelated purposes without permission. Customer reviews or finished-product photos are only published to the public showcase after the customer submits them and an Admin approves them.

Artwork and photo storage choices

Your uploaded artwork and customer photo uploads are stored privately on the YourMugshots server and are not automatically emailed or published. At checkout you can choose Save my artwork for future orders. On the Send Photos page you can separately choose Keep these photos in my YourMugshots account for future orders. The customer-photo option is off by default. When it is off, the upload is marked Delete after Order for the YourMugshots team; when enabled, it is marked Keep for Future. Send Photos uploads are not automatically linked to a specific order because an upload may relate to a later or different order. The YourMugshots team manages deletion of Delete after Order media when the relevant work is complete.

If you have a customer account, My Account shows your Send Photos folders and lets you permanently delete individual files or an entire folder. Deleting your reusable account profile also deletes these reusable customer photo folders. Deleting files before production is complete may prevent us from finishing the order. Media deletion does not necessarily delete accounting, transaction, order-status or other records that we may still need for legitimate business or legal purposes.

Visitor analytics, GeoIP and IP security

The website records limited server-side visitor analytics so YourMugshots can understand which public pages and products are being viewed and whether visitors progress from product pages to the bag, checkout and orders. This may include public IP address, approximate country/region/city and timezone derived from that IP address, page path, request time, referring website, browser/user-agent information and aggregate pageview counts. Static files, Admin pages, customer account pages, checkout, order tracking and recognised automated bots are excluded from the visitor analytics system.

The website is intended for Australia and New Zealand. For public visitors, the server may send the visitor's public IP address to ipwho.is to derive approximate GeoIP information used for geo-access control, operational analytics and local date/time answers in Mugsy chat. GeoIP location is approximate and is not precise GPS/device location. Your name, contact details, order contents and artwork are not included in that lookup. GeoIP results are cached by our server for up to 30 days to reduce repeated lookups. Security logs may retain IP addresses for abuse prevention and investigation.

Visitor analytics are stored on the YourMugshots server rather than sent to an advertising analytics platform. The analytics store is bounded to recent visitor records and rolling daily summaries. Local/private and deliberately trusted testing IP addresses are excluded from visitor analytics so administration/testing does not distort sales traffic reporting.

Storage and security

Order, customer, artwork, proof and security information is managed on the YourMugshots server. Administrative access is password-protected and the website includes request validation, rate limiting, session invalidation after password resets, and automatic blocking for recognised scanner/exploit behaviour. Server-side backups may contain order, customer and uploaded-file data for disaster recovery and are subject to backup retention controls. No security system can guarantee absolute protection, so we limit collection and provide self-service controls where appropriate.

Access, correction and deletion requests

If you have a customer account, My Account lets you update saved contact/address details, download a copy of your reusable account data and linked order history, review/delete customer photo uploads, and delete your reusable account profile. Account deletion does not automatically erase historical order/accounting records that may still be required for legitimate business or legal purposes, but reusable customer photo folders linked to the account are deleted. You may also contact us to request access, correction or deletion where appropriate. Order artwork has a separate self-service deletion control on the secure tracking page.

Personalized orders

YourMugshots makes products from customer-supplied photos, wording and design instructions. Product images and live previews are guides only. Where a final proof is provided, production should not begin until the proof is approved and any required payment arrangements are satisfied.

Your artwork and permissions

By uploading a photo, logo, illustration, wording or other material, you confirm that you are permitted to provide it to us and to have it reproduced for your order. Do not upload material that is unlawful or that you do not have permission to use. We may decline material or an order where necessary.

Artwork privacy and retention

At checkout you can choose whether YourMugshots may retain uploaded artwork after the order is completed for possible reuse on future orders. The option is voluntary and unticked by default. If you do not select it, artwork is automatically removed when the order is Completed or Cancelled. You can also permanently delete uploaded artwork from your secure tracking page. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Proofs and customer approval

Please check spelling, names, dates, image placement and other personalized details carefully. If you approve a proof containing an error that was visible in that proof, correcting or remaking the personalized product may involve additional cost, subject always to your rights under applicable consumer law.

Pricing, payment and delivery

Prices are in New Zealand dollars unless stated otherwise. Some products or custom work may require a quote. Shipping or delivery charges may be confirmed separately. Current checkout options are bank transfer or arranging payment directly with YourMugshots; this website does not collect payment-card details.

Turnaround

Personalized work depends on artwork quality, proof changes, customer response time, payment and product availability. Any stated turnaround is an estimate rather than a guaranteed delivery date unless we expressly agree otherwise.

Discount, reward and referral codes

Discount, repeat-purchase and referral codes are promotional credits issued by YourMugshots. Unless a specific offer says otherwise, codes are single-use, have no cash value, cannot reduce an order below NZ$0.00, and apply to eligible fixed-price merchandise rather than a cash refund. A referral reward is issued to the referring customer only after the referred customer's qualifying order has been paid and completed. Codes may have an expiry date stored with the reward. Up to 10 valid codes may be stacked on one transaction; codes are applied in the order entered and merchandise discounts cannot reduce the merchandise subtotal below NZ$0.00. Only one referral code may be applied to an order.

Customer reviews and showcase photos

If you choose to submit a review or finished-product photo from Order Status, it is stored privately until reviewed by YourMugshots. We may publish approved reviews and submitted showcase photos on the public website. You may contact us if you want an approved review removed.

Warranty, product care and colour fading

YourMugshots provides a voluntary workmanship warranty for covered manufacturing, printing, coating and application defects arising during normal intended use. This can include issues such as peeling, lifting, flaking, delamination or premature cracking where the problem is caused by a production or workmanship defect rather than misuse or normal ageing.

Colours can gradually fade over time, particularly when exposed to direct sunlight, UV light, outdoor conditions, heat, frequent washing or abrasion. Gradual fading, UV fading and sun bleaching are considered environmental ageing / normal wear and are not covered by the voluntary workmanship warranty. Cancellations, faults and consumer rights

Because products are personalized, an order may become difficult to cancel once design or production work has started. If a product is faulty, damaged, materially different from the approved design, or otherwise covered by mandatory consumer rights, contact us so we can review the appropriate remedy. Nothing in these terms or our voluntary warranty is intended to exclude or limit rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights under New Zealand consumer law where applicable.

Our workmanship warranty

YourMugshots stands behind the quality of the personalized products we make. If a product develops a fault because of a manufacturing, printing, coating or application defect during normal intended use, contact us and we will assess the problem and the appropriate remedy.

This warranty is additional to any rights you may have under applicable New Zealand consumer law, including the Consumer Guarantees Act where it applies. Nothing on this page is intended to limit rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

What is covered

Examples of faults that may be covered where they arise from our workmanship, the supplied blank product or the application process include:

  • printed, transferred or applied artwork peeling, lifting, flaking or separating from the product during normal intended use;
  • premature cracking of the printed or applied design where it is not caused by impact, excessive flexing, heat, chemicals or other misuse;
  • delamination, coating failure or adhesion failure that is not normal wear and tear;
  • a manufacturing defect in the product supplied by us that materially affects normal use;
  • personalization that materially differs from the final approved proof because of our production error; and
  • other production or workmanship defects that become apparent during normal intended use.

Colour fading, sunlight and UV exposure

Colours can gradually fade over time. Fading can occur faster when a product is exposed to direct sunlight, strong UV light, outdoor conditions, repeated heat, frequent washing or abrasion.

Gradual colour fading, UV fading, sun bleaching or colour change caused by prolonged exposure to direct sunlight is considered environmental ageing / normal wear and is not covered by our voluntary workmanship warranty.

For the longest possible colour life, keep personalized products out of prolonged direct sunlight when practical, follow any product-specific care instructions and avoid unnecessary heat, harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaning.

What is not covered

The voluntary workmanship warranty does not normally cover:

  • gradual fading, loss of colour intensity or discolouration that develops over time;
  • fading, bleaching or deterioration caused by direct sunlight, UV exposure, outdoor weather or prolonged display in a sunny window;
  • normal wear and tear, minor scratches, scuffs, surface marks or cosmetic ageing consistent with normal use;
  • damage caused by dropping, impact, crushing, bending, excessive flexing, rough handling, pets, children, accidents or misuse;
  • damage caused by inappropriate washing, soaking, dishwasher use, microwave use, excessive heat or freezing where the particular product was not represented as suitable for that treatment;
  • damage caused by bleach, solvents, strong chemicals, abrasive cleaners, scourers or other unsuitable cleaning methods;
  • water, weather or outdoor-exposure damage to products that are intended primarily for indoor use;
  • damage caused by modification, drilling, cutting, re-coating, repair or alteration after supply;
  • wear caused by use outside the product's intended purpose or unusually heavy/commercial use;
  • differences in colour caused by normal variation between screens, source photographs, materials and printing processes, provided the finished result is reasonably consistent with the approved design;
  • poor image quality, pixelation, cropping or colour characteristics that originate in customer-supplied artwork and were reasonably apparent from the proof;
  • spelling, dates, names, layout or other personalized details that were supplied or approved by the customer in the final proof; and
  • damage that occurs after delivery because the product was stored or used in unsuitable environmental conditions.

Normal variation in personalized products

Personalized products are made individually. Small differences in colour, print position, material tone, texture, grain, coating or alignment can occur between products and batches. Minor variation that does not materially affect the appearance or normal use of the product is not usually a manufacturing fault.

Transit damage or a fault on arrival

If an item arrives broken, damaged or with an obvious production fault, contact us as soon as reasonably possible. Keep the product, packaging and any relevant courier material until we have reviewed the claim, as photos of the item and packaging may be required.

How to make a warranty claim

Please contact YourMugshots with:

  • your order number;
  • a clear description of the problem and when you first noticed it;
  • clear photographs showing the affected area and, where useful, the whole product; and
  • any relevant information about how the product has been used, cleaned, stored or exposed.

If the product may be unsafe to continue using, stop using it until the issue has been assessed.

What happens if a claim is covered

After assessing the item and the circumstances, an appropriate remedy may include repair, reprinting, replacement or refund, depending on the nature of the fault and any rights or remedies available under applicable consumer law.

Product care

  • Keep personalized surfaces away from prolonged direct sunlight where practical.
  • Use gentle cleaning methods and avoid abrasive pads, scourers and harsh chemicals.
  • Only use a dishwasher, microwave or other high-heat process where the specific product is stated to be suitable.
  • Avoid dropping, impact and unnecessary flexing or bending.
  • Store products in a dry, appropriate environment when not in use.
  • If product-specific care instructions are supplied, follow those instructions in preference to these general guidelines.

YourMugshots is a small husband-and-wife hobby business based in Rangiora on New Zealand’s South Island. We work together to turn your photos, wording and ideas into personalized gifts made for you, or for someone special.

Send us your idea

Send your photos, wording or ideas through our Send Photos page, by Email, through Mugsy Chat, or by Product Photo Upload. Tell us what you have in mind, and we’ll take it from there.

We create your proof

We prepare the design and send a proof back to you for approval, so you can see how it will look before production.

Approve & make

Once you’re happy with the proof, payment is required before production begins. Most projects are completed within 2–3 working days, although timing can vary depending on proof response times.
